What is the Financial Crime Compliance team responsible for? The Financial Crime Compliance team is part of the Global Compliance department. Global Compliance has more than 100 compliance professionals located in in various countries worldwide. Our team helps mitigate compliance risks facing the company, including material loss, financial loss, or loss of reputation, as well as the possibility of regulatory sanctions that Franklin Templeton may suffer as a result of its failure to comply with laws, regulations, rules, industry standards and codes of conduct applicable to its activities. FT is firmly committed to international efforts to combat money laundering and the funding of terrorist and criminal activities. We make every effort to remain in full compliance with all applicable anti-money laundering (“AML”) and anti-terrorist financing (“ATF”) laws, rules and standards adopted in the jurisdictions in which we do business. The Financial Crime Compliance team addresses Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, and Sanctions risks. The Compliance Analyst is responsible under the direct supervision of his or her manager, for assisting the management in all responsibilities related to Financial Crime Compliance. He/she will independently perform compliance monitoring activities and perform other ongoing responsibilities described below. What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Compliance Analyst?- Ensure that AML and Sanction policies and procedures are adhered to and evidenced properly- Perform basic and enhanced due diligence, including AML, KYC, ABC, PEP, Sanction, and Negative News screening on new and existing US & Non-US relationships- Obtain and update beneficial ownership and control data on relationships where required- Document and maintain all due diligence evidence- Determine materiality (i.e., true v. false positive matches), document review and escalate results appropriately- Perform other legal & compliance research- Reconcile lists of new relationships with existing data to ensure monitoring is performed on complete population- Track all outstanding documentation for exceptions and follow up as needed- Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner- Prepare metric reporting- Assist the management in day-to day issues, projects, business development issues What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?- 3+ years in data analysis and/or other related experience- Prior experience working in the financial services is required- KYC or AML experience preferred- Strong interest in Financial Crime Compliance- Relevant degree e.g., in Economics, Finance or Law, or other relevant professional qualifications- - Proven experience in using digital solutions (data analytics etc.) would be a strong plus- Experience with LexisNexis Bridger Insight, Orbis, GRID or similar would be an asset- Strong analytical & administrative skills as well as ability to handle multiple tasks/requests at the same time- Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written)- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision- Fluency in English- Other foreign languages would be an asset What makes Franklin Templeton unique?
