Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report. **Project Overview**: **Job Summary**: The Civil Field Engineer is responsible for tasks and activities relating to construction engineering within the Civil discipline (i.e., concrete, structural steel, excavation/backfill, scaffolding, architectural finishes) utilizing nuclear codes and standards. Responsibilities include the development of work plans, coordinating materials, performing, and documenting inspections, reporting progress, and resolving conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of commodities through turnover to Startup/Commissioning. This position will be responsible for a variety of construction tasks utilizing nuclear and industrial codes and standards related to concrete, steel, earthwork, architectural installations. Duties include interpreting design and vender drawings and specifications. **Major Responsibilities**: - Provides field engineering support and assistance to superintendents, supporting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality, and assures results meet design requirements. - Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of civil commodities. - Performs Civil Field Engineering activities including inspections, audits and planning to support the installation of formwork, rebar, concrete, structural steel, architectural, earthwork and performs rigging support and planning activities for material and equipment. - Assure procedural compliance, material control, and complete and thorough documentation of inspections for completed work. - Directs or performs preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment and initiates requisitions for field material purchases. - Supports preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of as built drawings and other job plans. - Supports planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment, assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection. - Review’s specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on site. - Oversees and coordinates subcontractor work efforts and subcontract changes and interfaces. **Education and Experience Requirements**: - Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and manoeuvring around very small and/or confined spaces. **Required Knowledge and Skills**: - Previous Power, Nuclear or Large EPC project experience. - Familiarity with current industry quality standards. - Proficiency in verbal and written communications. - Excellent organizational skills. Requires ability to receive direction from multiple sources and effectively establish priorities. - Flexibility and ability to multitask are required. - Knowledge of requirements for Lock Out Tag Out for safety.
